Community Outreach Programs

"She (the volunteer) takes me out for drives on lovely afternoons and is willing to take me shopping when I am able and strong enough to get around. This adds extra time to her busy schedule but she wants me to enjoy life as much as possible which I do when I have friends like her. By meeting her through the Hospice Program we enjoy one another's company and that provides me with a normal life as much as possible. "Hospice Miramichi provided great support for my wife Beverly  and our family during Bev’s terminal illness.  The Outreach volunteer spent quality time with Bev in our home when she was feeling socially isolated because of her illness.  The volunteer helped relieve her loneliness in a way that I could not.  This was consoling and a pleasure for Bev.  For the rest of the family, the visit of the Hospice Miramichi Outreach Program volunteer gave us relief, allowing us to have time for ourselves and take care of ourselves so that we could care for Bev. The volunteer was wonderful.  She was always positive and engaged in stimulating conversation.
