Hospice Miramichi is very mindful of the responsibility that caretakers have and we recognize that caretaker fatigue is often misunderstood. Now that we are in our forever home, Vondy House Hospice Miramichi is happy to announce that we will, once again, be offering our Day Hospice Program.
We began offering this much needed service in 2016, the first of its kind in our province, and we received so much positive feedback from our program in the past that we have been working hard to be able to re-offer.
Our Day Hospice Program will begin again on February 5th and 6th. The program will be available twice a week to those living with the effects of life-limiting/life-threatening illnesses through self-referral or referral from primary care providers. The criteria remains the same as before as does the activities. Snacks and lunch are still provided free of charge.
Our next Grief Share will be offered again in the Spring at Shannex, the date will be announced soon.
We will be offering our Advanced Care Program again and the date will be announced soon as well.
For more information, you can visit our website or contact our Nurse Manager, Kathy Avery, at (506)773-7607 ext 201
Hospice Miramichi Inc invites the public to join us for our Annual General Meeting on Friday April 19, 6:00pm at the Knights of Columbus, 67 King Street.
Hospice Miramichi Inc. seeks to raise the awareness of the unique needs of those living with life limiting illnesses where cure is not an option and medications are no longer controlling the condition. Hospice Miramichi works within the community to provide practical care and support for clients and families in their homes, in nursing homes, hospitals and residential care facilities (special care homes). Our staff & volunteers are trained to provide practical and emotional support during the end stages of life and through the grieving process.
