At Vondy House, we understand how difficult it can be to navigate end-of-life decisions. Our hospice is here to offer peace, comfort, and dignity for individuals in their final journey — and to support the families who love them.
To ensure we can provide the right level of care in a safe and supportive environment, the following criteria help determine eligibility for admission:
- The individual is receiving care through the Extra-Mural Program
- A physician has determined a life expectancy of six months or less
- A Do Not Attempt Resuscitation (DNAR) order is in place
- The individual holds a valid New Brunswick Medicare card
- There is no risk of wandering or behaviors that cannot be safely managed in our setting
- The individual and their family understand the diagnosis and prognosis, and have chosen comfort-focused care only
- The level of medical care needed does not exceed what we can provide outside a hospital setting
- You must be a resident of Miramichi or the surrounding communities or have family members in the area.
